You will start in our IBM Tech Sales Accelerator Program: It is designed for ambitious graduates, offering hands-on training, mentorship, and real-world experience within IBM Technical Sales. That means: Initially over 12-24 months, you will work in Client Engineering as Platform Engineer, gaining critical skills during pilot development before transitioning into your next career step as Technical Sales Specialist Infrastructure (m/f/x).

 

As part of your trainee phase, you will start in Client Engineering as Platform Engineer, developing trusted relationships, you’ll work with clients and colleagues to shape the future of their technology landscape, creating (2-4 week) pilots for clients, and contributing to IBM’s story of growth and technology innovation. As we help you combine your technical education with consultative sales best practices, you will accelerate enterprises’ success by providing award-winning solutions across Automation as well as Data & AI.

You will work closely with clients to develop relationships, understand their needs, earn their trust and show them how IBM's industry leading solutions will solve their problems whilst delivering value to their business. Your primary responsibilities will include: 

Support the whole sales process by

  • Demonstrating our product portfolio
  • Designing solutions addressing the client's needs
  • Running proof of concepts and pilots to demonstrate how the solution can work in the client’s environment
  • Working with existing clients to ensure our technology is properly used and clients are up to date about the latest product developments
  • Identify new business opportunities inside your existing clients as well as new clients 

 

You will learn about all the important workloads, system-related software, and hardware of our IBM infrastructure and cloud platform, but you will also develop a special focus on the respective growth market around hybrid cloud architectures, artificial intelligence, data analytics, and container technologies.

 

Later in your next career step as a technical specialist, you will develop innovative infrastructure solutions for your customers in a wide range of industries. You will create requirements, translate them into suitable technologies and architectures, identify added value, and represent these in the various sales and negotiation phases. If necessary, you will integrate skills and resources from other areas, whether national or international, whether research, development, software, or services.

 

You will also support the training and further education of our business partners, develop a broad, sustainable, international network within IBM with product development and management, and represent the specific requirements of our customers.

Educación requerida
Licenciatura
Experiencia profesional y técnica requerida
  • Solid knowledge of information technologies: degree in computer science, business informatics, software development, or equivalent degree and/or training with relevant professional experience in the IT field
  • Technical understanding and enjoyment of working with new technologies
  • Very good analytical, conceptual, and organizational skills, flexibility, and ability to work in a team
  • Confident communication and presentation skills in German and English
  • High willingness to learn, self-motivation, and results-oriented
  • Mobility and enjoyment of working in (international) teams
Experiencia técnica y profesional preferida
  • Experience in IT infrastructure projects
  • Experience in dealing with customers and business partners
  • Ideally, basic knowledge of Linux (RedHat, Suse), AI, container and cloud technologies
  • IT-Automation (e.g. AIOps, Cloud Cost Management, Observability, Cloud and IT-operations technologies)
  • Infrastructure automation (HashiCorp, RedHat)
  • Proficient in at least one common cloud native programming language (Java, Python, HCL, Rust, Ansible, etc.)
  • Hands-on experience with a wide range of cloud and automation technologies.
  • Practical knowledge and direct experience with virtualized on-premise and cloud-based computing platforms.
  • Experience in building application and infrastructure deployment automation workflows.
