IBM X-Force Threat Intelligence team is looking for an Intern to join their Strategic Threat Analysis team. The team is comprised of world-class intelligence analysts that help organizations understand how the threat landscape is changing and the latest techniques that threat actors employ. The team mines insights from malware reverse engineering, dark web research, incident response engagements and vulnerability tracking to help clients better secure their environments.
The Intern will work with Threat Analysts on the following tasks, including, but not limited to the production of Strategic Threat Assessments (STAs) for clients, research of cyber threats and production of Threat Analysis and Flash reports, and support the production of presentations, threat group and industry profiles. The intern may also be involved in the development of content for external publication, including, but not limited to blogs for SecurityIntelligence and the annual IBM X-Force Threat Intelligence Index and Cloud Threat Landscape reports.
- Demonstrates some understanding of the threat landscape including, but not limited to cyber-attack vectors, threat actors, security trends, and security policies and recommendations.
- Takes a proactive approach to learning about the latest threats, threat actors, tactics, techniques and procedures and malware.
- Possesses strong verbal communication and written skills.
- Some experience in writing a cohesive narrative around security research for either a technical or non-technical audience.
- Experience with one or more of the following: conducting and correlating threat research, performing threat modeling, and producing intelligence threat assessments
