IBM Brand Technical Specialists have extensive technical knowledge to sell Business Unit specialty or brand products to clients in order to remove all technical inhibitors to sales opportunities. They are technical experts who design viable client solutions by leveraging current product capabilities while providing input to product teams for solutions refinement. They are hands-on practitioners with a focus on customized experiential selling – “show me, don’t tell me” approach. They maintain strong platform and product knowledge, articulate the value proposition / ROI, understand the competitive landscape, and construct relevant use cases to drive sales. Brand Technical Specialists are responsible for creating and delivering technical proof points through technical accelerators, to include but not limited to demonstrations, POTs, POCs, Workshops, Solution Design, Proposals and MVPs.

• Good understanding of the strengths of Linux operating system
• Strong Linux specific technical skills and with a high level of understanding of the system architecture specifically:
o Linux/OS capabilities and operation
o Experience and expertise in Kubernetes technology and solutions built upon Kubernetes container technologies
o Business Resiliency technologies such as Parallel Sysplex
o Storage High Availability and Mirroring technologies
o Ability to identify, create and progress new opportunities
o Strong leadership, communication and presentation skills
Preferred Professional and Technical Expertise
• IBM Z technical skills and with some knowledge of:
o Linux on IBM Z
o Hypervisors such as z/VM & KVM
o Good understanding of consolidation and sustainability plays and ability to demonstrate its value via demos and PoCs
o Network implementation
