Introduction

The Ansible Middleware team is seeking an Ansible Software Engineer to contribute to the integration of Red Hat Runtimes portfolio (JBoss® Enterprise Application Platform, Quarkus, Red Hat Single Sign-On, Red Hat JBoss Web Server, Red Hat Data Grid,...) with Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform. 

In this role, you will help design and build solutions for customers to automate their runtime deployment and management with Ansible, including installation and configuration, security and compliance and application management. Communicating with other branches of Red Hat, including support, core developer of both middleware runtimes and Ansible along with product engineers is essential for the task at hand.

You will also be contributing your solutions to our Open Source projects such as WildFly, Infinispan but also Ansible and its ecosystems.

Your role and responsibilities


  • Work in multiple projects to achieve their integration within Ansible (custom role and collection)

    • Work with respective project teams to understand their usage and identify the use cases for Ansible

    • Develop a prototype covering their requirements

    • Develop a blueprint for Ansible extensions (aka Ansible collection) 

  • Contribute to projects implementing modern technologies like WildFly, Quarkus or SmallRye

  • Work in a collaborative, distributed environment

Required education
Bachelor's Degree
Preferred education
Master's Degree
Required technical and professional expertise


  • A great experience of Ansible and Python programming

  • Affinity with Java programming

  • Knowledge of different Java middleware frameworks like Jakarta EE (/ Java EE) or Spring Boot is a strong plus

  • Strong oral and written communication skills in English

  • A positive attitude and desire to share ideas openly

  • A passion for open-source software

  • Ability to work in virtual teams
