Our Marketing, Communications & Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) (MCC) team works on and tells this story, and is responsible for positioning IBM in the market. ESG, as a component within our CSR function, works with internal and external stakeholders on IBM’s ESG agenda, strategy and execution, voluntary and mandatory ESG disclosure, ESG engagement with clients, rankers/raters and investors, human rights due diligence, and community impact work related to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

As an ESG Human Rights Project Manager as part of the ESG Strategy & Programs team at IBM, your primary responsibilities will be to help drive human rights business accountability throughout IBM’s value chain, as well as human rights benchmarking, strategy and reporting through process excellence and streamlined collaboration across functions. You will act as a trusted business advisor to the leadership team with particular focus on efficacy, measurement and operational tools, and strategic planning amidst compliance.
ESG Human Rights Project Managers help ensure that IBM human rights ambition and execution aligns with business objectives, stakeholder expectations and requirements, and global and local legislation. You will help ensure IBM consistently and appropriately conducts proper human rights due diligence throughout our organizational model in an efficient and effective manner.
As an ESG Human Rights Project Manager, you will:
· Help assess IBM’s current human rights obligations and ambitions, incorporating in key stakeholder sentiment (i.e. clients, investors, public, NGOs, raters/rankers, etc.)
· Research and analyze relative operational models against peer and industry standard benchmarks
· Drive collaboration across human rights areas internally as well as with key external stakeholders
· Coordinate engagement and process flows on relative human rights matters with IBM Business Units
· Help identify, proactively implement, and govern operational improvements over a variety of tasks associated with IBM human rights processes and governance, strategy and reporting
· Experience and/or passion for universal human rights as an integral component of ESG/CSR/Sustainability
· Fluency in English
· Strong attention to detail
· Proficiency in Microsoft Suite and other industry standard business tools
· Hybrid working environment with general weekly expectation approximately 3 days in office / 2 days remote
· Ability to travel occasionally as may be required by job duties
· Undergraduate Degree in a related field
· 1-3 years related experience
· Ability to effectively drive change through projects and programs
· Experience with business process improvement initiatives
· Ability to develop and analyze data and use storytelling techniques to deliver concise and compelling analysis and recommendations
· Ability to build relationships with stakeholders and communicate with influence
· Outstanding communication/interpersonal skills to articulate ideas, frame problems, offer solutions, and work efficiently with cross-functional teams
· Ability to dive into details and understand root causes by asking probing questions that identify deeper opportunities for change
