Your role and responsibilities

 

As an associate level Test Specialist at IBM, your technical skills will directly impact the quality of the software we create, and your recommendations and findings will help us make sure we're delivering the best of the best. Come work in an agile environment where you will help each iteration reach the next level. Whether the testing is manual, automated, or cognitive, you hold a key role in releasing the best deliverables to our clients and IBM alike. In your role you may be responsible for:

 

    Building automated tests using tools such as Selenium, Protractor, Katalon, Cucumber, etc.

    Create test data and test environments

    Write and execute test scripts under the direction of a senior tester and test lead and identify errors and validate successes for any software solution 

    Identify, understand, and document all programming errors and operational characteristics that are inconsistent with stated requirements and design specification goals for the given program, application or set of applications 

    Do a deep-dive and present test results to clients and project teams clearly

  1. Basic understanding of Software Testing processes
  • Foundational knowledge of testing principles, test case creation, and defect reporting.
  1. Introductory development background
  • Ability to understand basic code logic and collaborate with developers.
  1. Advance communication skills
  • Proficient in English; capable of working with cross-geo teams and presenting findings clearly.
  1. Familiarity with cloud computing concepts
  • Basic understanding of cloud environments and their impact on testing.
  1. Ability to work in agile environments
  • Comfortable with iterative development, sprint planning, and agile ceremonies.

 

Preferred technical and professional experience

 

  • Exposure to basic AI concepts, ethics, and methodologies
  • Experience with tools like Confluence, JIRA, Selenium, Test Data Management Tools
  • Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, IBM Cloud, Google Cloud)
  • Familiarity with API, ETL, SQL testing and data quality analysis
  • Exposure to basic data science concepts
  • Knowledge of Salesforce, AWS, Kubernetes
  • Experience with mobile app deployment and 3rd party/UI apps
  • Sales and post-sales process understanding
