The IBM Storage team is looking for a Fusion Data Foundation L3 Engineer to join us in Bangalore, India. In this role, you'll be required to have a deep background in Linux storage system administration and development. In this role, you will deliver an outstanding sustaining experience to our Fusion Data Foundation product support teams and customers. You will be an escalation point for critical customer issues and a mentor across the globe for L2 Support Engineers and partners. As a Fusion Data Foundation L3 Engineer, you will need to have experience with large and complex systems and be able to think creatively, learn new things, and adapt to a constantly changing environment.
You will be responsible for providing help to L2 support engineers.
Handle the most highly escalated cases by our support/L2 teams to ensure they receive top-level help to provide the best customer experience on their most impactful issues.
You will work to exceed customer expectations by providing outstanding sustaining service and ensuring that regular updates are provided to L2 teams.
Understand our customer's and partner's needs and work with product management teams on driving these features and fixes directly into the product.
Constantly monitor product experience and provide inputs to product stakeholders to improve the same.
6+ Years of experience working as a L3, sustaining or development engineer or directly related experience.
Senior-level Linux Storage System administration experience, including system installation, configuration, maintenance, scripting via BASH, and utilizing Linux tooling for advanced log debugging.
Advanced troubleshooting and debugging skills, with a passion for problem-solving and investigation.
Strong scripting (Python, Bash, etc.) and programming skills (Go/C/C++)
Must be able to work and collaborate with a global team and strive to share knowledge with peers.
In-depth knowledge of Distributed storage architecture, components, and deployment.
Understanding of different storage types(block/File/Object), rook,Scale and Ceph Storage is a plus.
Experience with container orchestration tools such as Kubernetes.
Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their storage services.
Knowledge of Opensource development, and working experience in Opensource projects.
