This position reports to the Global Head of Employee Impact and will be staffed in US.
IBM’s Global CSR function consists of three major areas:
- IT Education and Workforce Development, a highly impactful group of initiatives at the core of IBM’s commitment to skill 30 million people globally by 2030 and 2 million learners in AI by 2026. It offers platform-based hybrid programs on Cloud and Artificial Intelligence(AI) thru IBM SkillsBuildfor exploratory level, entry-level and professional reskilling and upskilling to two major groups:
- Traditionally underrepresented areas of our society with a focus to potentialize access to new Tech entry-level jobs throughout a network of alliances and partnerships with government and NPO sectors.
- Academia programs focused mainly on gen-AI professional content for developer communities inside universities, faculty members and train to train models.
- Social Innovation - specific AI applied for social impact projects thru Impact Accelerator; Materiality assessments for all areas related to global ESG report.
- Volunteerism and Employee Giving programs supporting these initiatives, with a goal of achieving 4M Volunteer Hours by 2025.
We are seeking a strategic and impact-driven Volunteerism and Giving Leader to support the strategy and execution of IBM’s global volunteerism and giving programs, with a strong focus on evolving and expanding our volunteerism portfolio. This role will help nonprofit organizations and the communities they serve, driving measurable social impact while deepening employee engagement and strengthening IBM’s position as a leader in this realm. The ideal candidate has deep program and project management expertise in CSR, leading technology, consulting, social impact and or skilling programs, and has experience leading cross-functional initiatives that require business buy-in and collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
- Program Strategy & Growth: Support the evolution of IBM’s volunteerism portfolio, with a focus on expanding skills-based volunteering initiatives that align with IBM’s technology, AI, and business expertise.
- Program Execution & Partner Management: Oversee the implementation of global volunteering initiatives, managing external grants, contracts and partners, ensuring strong KPIs, seamless employee engagement and nonprofit partnership experiences. This also may include overseeing Disaster Relief strategy and response, skills-based volunteer programs, education and skilling volunteer initiatives.
- Large-scale campaign management: Oversee cross functional global coordination of company-wide engagement campaigns.
- Stakeholder & Partner Engagement: Work closely with internal teams, nonprofit partners, and external organizations to enhance program reach, impact, and innovation.
- High profile event oversight: Ensure volunteer and giving programs meet employees where they are while helping to strengthen business objectives and connections with clients, such as key tentpole events.
- Employee Engagement & Awareness: Develop recruitment strategies, resources, and training to inspire IBMers to participate in volunteer opportunities.
- Impact Measurement & Reporting: Define and track key metrics to assess program effectiveness and drive continuous improvement.
- Innovation & Best Practices: Stay ahead of industry trends, identifying opportunities to enhance IBM’s approach to skills-based volunteerism and corporate social responsibility.
- 10+ years of experience in corporate social responsibility (CSR), employee engagement, nonprofit partnerships, or a related field.
- Experience in management consulting, technology or managing corporate volunteer programs, with a strong understanding of effective and outcome-based volunteerism.
- Strong strategic thinking, project management, and execution skills.
- Demonstrated corporate grantee and vendor management oversight.
- High profile event experience.
- Excellent stakeholder management and relationship-building abilities.
- Ability to measure, analyze, and report on program impact.
- Exceptional communication and storytelling skills.
