Core Responsibilities:
- Develop and enforce data security policies, procedures, and standards.
- Monitor networks and systems for security breaches, incidents, and anomalies.
- Conduct regular security audits and risk assessments.
- Implement and manage encryption, firewalls, antivirus, and intrusion detection systems.
- Respond to and investigate security incidents and breaches.
- Collaborate with IT and compliance teams to ensure secure data storage and transmission.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of cybersecurity threats, trends, and technologies.
- Ensure compliance with data protection laws (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, CCPA).
- Train staff on data security best practices and awareness.
- Design and implement data loss prevention (DLP) strategies.
- Evaluate and recommend new security tools and technologies.
- Participate in disaster recovery and business continuity planning.
- Support secure software development practices (DevSecOps).
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles and best practices.
- Proficiency in security tools (e.g., SIEM, IDS/IPS, antivirus, firewalls).
- Experience with data encryption, access control, and authentication protocols.
- Knowledge of regulatory frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST, GDPR).
- Familiarity with cloud security (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Incident response and forensic investigation skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and documentation abilities.
- Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, CompTIA Security+, or GIAC.
- Experience with scripting languages (Python, PowerShell, Bash).
- Background in ethical hacking or penetration testing.
- Experience with data classification and governance tools.
