We are looking for a senior backend developer with strong expertise in Node.js and AWS services, results-oriented, and capable of generating impact from the outset. The primary focus will be on migrating existing integrations in legacy technologies (OSB and COBOL) to modern services using AWS and microservices. We value collaborative skills and the ability to technically support other team members.

In this role, you'll work in one of our IBM Consulting Client Innovation Centers (Delivery Centers), where we deliver deep technical and industry expertise to a wide range of public and private sector clients around the world. Our delivery centers offer our clients locally based skills and technical expertise to drive innovation and adoption of new technology.

Job Description:
We are looking for a senior backend developer with strong expertise in Node.js and AWS services, results-oriented, and capable of generating impact from the outset. The main focus will be on migrating existing integrations in legacy technologies (OSB and COBOL) to modern services using AWS and microservices. We value collaborative skills and technical support from other team members.

Responsibilities:

Develop simple and effective solutions, focusing on delivering value in an agile and sustainable manner.
Replace legacy integrations (OSB and COBOL) with modern Node.js services, using AWS tools and services.
Ensure good development practices aligned with team standards.
Collaborate with other developers, both in technical project oversight and knowledge transfer.
Actively participate in the design and implementation of APIs and distributed services.

Required technical and professional expertise

Required Skills / Experience:

Languages and Technologies: Node.js with JavaScript, preferably TypeScript (5+ years).
Integrations: Solid experience in the design, development, and maintenance of REST APIs and distributed services.
Cloud: Experience with AWS (minimum 3 years), with specific knowledge of:
Lambda
S3
DynamoDB
RDS
API Gateway
EKS with microservices
Infrastructure as Code: Knowledge of tools such as CloudFormation, SAM, or Serverless Framework.
Databases: Management of relational and NoSQL databases (5+ years).
Agile Methodologies: Experience working with SCRUM and/or KANBAN.
Tools: Git, GitLab, Jira, Confluence, Visual Studio Code, Postman, Terminal.
Teamwork: Strong communication, collaboration, and impact-oriented skills. Experience leading technically or supporting other developers will be a plus.
