IBM is currently seeking a Technical Specialist (PTS-T) for IBM Automation software.
The primary focus of this role is to drive direct customer adoption of IBM’s Infrastructure Delivery Automation portfolio, including technologies such as NS1, SevOne, HashiCorp Terraform & Vault, Verify, and Trusteer. This position plays a critical role in expanding IBM’s software footprint across the Israeli market.
As a customer-facing technical sales professional, you will play a central role in IBM’s go-to-market strategy. Your goal will be to convince customers to adopt IBM technologies by building trusted technical relationships, demonstrating deep product expertise, and articulating the business value of IBM Infrastructure delivery Automation solutions. This includes leading technical discussions, delivering compelling presentations and demonstrations, running Proofs of Concept (POCs), and positioning IBM competitively against other solutions in the market.
You will collaborate closely with IBM’s partner ecosystem, Customer Success Managers (CSMs), client engineering, and the local sales team to ensure a cohesive, high-impact customer experience.
As a Technical Specialist for IBM Automation software, you will:
Develop deep expertise in IBM Automation software, and stay current on competitive landscape and emerging technologies.
Build strong technical credibility and trusted relationships with key customer stakeholders, including technical leaders and decision-makers.
Deliver effective technical presentations, live demonstrations, and lead hands-on POCs that clearly highlight the value of IBM's solutions.
Engage directly with customers to understand their challenges and architectures, and position IBM offerings to solve business and technical needs.
Influence customers’ reference architectures and decision criteria in favor of IBM Automation.
Collaborate with IBM partners to extend reach and execution, while ensuring IBM is positioned as the vendor of choice.
Work with CSMs and client engineering to ensure smooth post-sale adoption and value realization.
Support local account teams in identifying opportunities, shaping solution strategy, and closing deals.
Champion an entrepreneurial and consultative mindset that balances technical excellence with business impact.
- Proven experience in software pre-sales, solution engineering, or technical sales, preferably in enterprise IT environments.
- Strong customer-facing communication and presentation skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex technical concepts and business value to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ability to lead technical engagements such as product demonstrations, POCs, architecture discussions, and competitive positioning.
- Quick self-learner with the ability to work independently, take ownership, and drive initiatives end-to-end.
- Demonstrated eagerness to continuously develop new skills and stay current with industry and product trends.
- Technical depth in areas such as infrastructure delivery, with hands-on experience or knowledge in products like NS1, SevOne, HashiCorp Terraform & Vault, Verify, Trusteer.
- Ability to influence customer technical direction and drive technology adoption through deep understanding of both the technical and business value of IBM’s Automation solutions.
- Willingness to expand expertise over time to cover a broader range of IBM’s Automation portfolio, including additional platform and integration technologies.
- Comfortable working in a collaborative environment with sales teams, customer success, client engineering, and partners, while maintaining a clear customer-first mindset.
- Bachelor Degree or equivalent preferably in IT or any other technical field
- Project planning and leadership with the ability to effectively lead a complex technical project
- Ability to develop and define a successful PoC / PoT
- Understanding of IBM Hybrid Cloud approach and Technology.
- Experience in Network & Security.
- Solid understanding of Container Technologies (i.e. Kubernetes, Docker, and others)
- Good understanding of Red Hat Technologies (i.e. Red Hat OpenShift, Red Hat Ansible, RHEL)
- Ability to use architectural methods to develop solutions to address specific requirements.
- Ability to leverage consultative Technical Selling techniques
- Strong Oral, Written Communication, and Presentation Skills including the ability to communicate with all levels, from developers through all C level Management (CxO)
