Key Responsibilities:
· Install, configure, and maintain RHEL servers in physical, virtual, or cloud environments.
· Perform regular system updates, kernel patching, and OS-level security configurations.
· Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues related to CPU, memory, storage, and networking.
· Automate routine tasks using shell scripting or configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible).
· Manage user accounts, permissions, and file systems (LVM, NFS, etc.).
· Maintain system documentation and support disaster recovery plans.
· Work closely with application teams to ensure optimal performance and availability.
· Support compliance with security policies and conduct vulnerability remediation.
Kubernetes admin:
Key Responsibilities:
· Install, configure, and upgrade Kubernetes clusters or OpenShift Cluster (on-premise or in cloud environments like IBM Cloud, AWS , ROSA etc).
· Manage cluster resources, namespaces, RBAC, ingress controllers, and storage classes.
· Monitor cluster health and node performance using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK stack.
· Automate deployment processes using Helm and CI/CD pipelines (Tekton/Jenkins).
· Implement and enforce security best practices (Pod Security Policies, Network Policies, Secrets management).
· Troubleshoot pod/container issues and optimize application deployments.
· Coordinate with DevOps, Development, and Security teams to support workloads and service mesh integrations (Istio, Envoy, Consul).
· Strong knowledge of RHEL 8/9 administration.
· Experience with system monitoring tools (rsyslog, Nagios, Prometheus, etc.).
· Familiarity with SELinux, firewalld, and security baselines.
· Proficient in bash scripting and automation.
· Knowledge of virtualization (VMware/KVM) and backup tools.
· Good to have RHCSA or RHCE certifications.
Required Skills (Kubernetes)
· Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes (kubeadm, kubectl, Helm).
· Familiar with container runtimes like Docker, containerd.
· Proficiency in YAML, Helm chart development, and GitOps workflows.
· Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/Ansible).
· Cloud-native tools experience (Kustomize, cert-manager).
· Good to have CKAD or CKAS certification.
