In this role, you'll work in one of our IBM Consulting Client Innovation Centers (Delivery Centers), where we deliver deep technical and industry expertise to a wide range of public and private sector clients around the world. Our delivery centers offer our clients locally based skills and technical expertise to drive innovation and adoption of new technology.

Your role and responsibilities
Job Description:As a Senior Quality Engineer with a full-stack focus, you will play a critical role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality software solutions that meet business objectives and regulatory requirements. Your primary responsibilities will include strategic test planning, team leadership, stakeholder management, test environment ownership, and alignment with regulatory projects. Key Responsibilities:
  1. Strategic Test Planning:

    • Define and document the UAT strategy, test plan, scope, schedule, and entry/exit criteria.
    • Align UAT with business goals, go-live timelines, and change management strategy.
    • Break down release scope into testable units and map them to business priorities.
  2. Team Leadership & Coordination:

    • Lead and mentor a team of full-stack testers, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
    • Delegate responsibilities, set clear expectations, and provide guidance, support, and resources to enable team success.
  3. Stakeholder Management & Communication:

    • Interface directly with business users, product owners, compliance teams, and project sponsors to gather requirements, provide updates, and manage expectations.
    • Facilitate regular communication, status updates, and risk discussions with stakeholders.
  4. Test Environment and Data Ownership:

    • Ensure the availability, configuration, and maintenance of full-stack test environments.
    • Manage test data, including data masking, provisioning, and refresh strategies.
  5. Regulatory Projects Alignment:

    • Collaborate with compliance teams to ensure full-stack UAT processes, tools, and artifacts meet regulatory requirements (e.g., data masking, audit trails validation).
    • Stay updated on industry regulations and standards relevant to retail and commercial banking workflows.
  6. Understanding of Retail and Commercial Banking Workflows:

    • Gain deep knowledge of retail and commercial banking processes, systems, and workflows to effectively design and execute full-stack UAT.
  7. Efficient and Effective Reporting:

    • Prepare and present full-stack UAT progress, performance metrics, and recommendations to executive leadership and cross-functional teams.
    • Generate detailed test reports, defect summaries, and risk assessments.
  8. Risk-based Testing Approach:

    • Identify, assess, and prioritize risks based on their potential impact on project objectives and stakeholders.
    • Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies and contingency plans.
  9. Automation and Optimization Advocacy:

    • Promote the adoption and continuous improvement of full-stack test automation frameworks, tools, and best practices.
    • Advocate for optimization opportunities to enhance full-stack UAT efficiency and effectiveness.
  10. Governance and Audit Compliance:

    • Ensure adherence to internal controls, governance policies, and audit requirements during full-stack UAT.
    • Collaborate with internal audit teams to address any findings or recommendations related to full-stack UAT processes.

Technical Experience (Must-haves):

  • 8+ years of experience in quality engineering, with a strong focus on full-stack testing and regulatory compliance.
  • Proven track record of leading and managing full-stack testing teams within an enterprise environment.
  • Thorough understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and quality assurance processes.
  • In-depth knowledge of testing methodologies, tools, and best practices, particularly in the banking and financial services industry.
  • Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, JavaScript, and SQL.
  • Experience with full-stack testing frameworks and tools (e.g., Selenium, Appium, Postman, or custom solutions).
  • Knowledge of compliance and regulatory requirements relevant to retail and commercial banking (e.g., GDPR, PCI DSS, or Basel III).
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).

Technical Experience (Good-to-haves):

  • Experience with risk management and risk-based testing methodologies.
  • Knowledge of data masking techniques and tools (e.g., Delphix, Informatica, or custom solutions).
  • Familiarity with audit trail validation and monitoring tools or frameworks.
  • Experience with Agile and Scrum methodologies, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives.
