You will be part of IBM Software's M&A, Investments and Strategy team, responsibilities include developing strategy, sourcing acquisition and investment opportunities, building relationships, negotiating, due diligence, and post-acquisition integration.
· Lead and contribute to IBM Software’s strategic investments end to end – be part of the team that is responsible for strategy, target identification, developing relationships, performing diligence and executing transaction
· Develop understanding of enterprise software sector, infrastructure software and AI segments that IBM participates in and contribute to establishing Strategic Investments and M&A strategy for IBM
· Develop understanding of startup ecosystem dynamics in IBM’s strategic Growth Markets (India, APAC and Middle East)
· Perform research to develop unique perspective on relevant software market segments and companies, identify companies headquartered in Growth Markets within IBM’s strategic segments, develop CXO level relationships at selected companies and create deep understanding of target companies’ business, build out and pitch strategic rationale for investments
· Assess target’s business, conduct diligence and build financial model
· Communicate findings and insights to senior management
· Coordinate with global cross-functional teams during the investments process
· Educate senior executives on target companies, new trends and opportunities
· Bachelor’s Degree in technology required
· MBA from a Tier-1 institution
· Minimum 7 years of experience in venture capital, corporate venture capital, strategy consulting, investment banking, corporate development or strategy at a leading technology company, private equity or venture capital
· Strategic, analytical, communication, critical thinking and problem solving skills
· Prior experience in Strategic Investments / Mergers & Acquisitions a strong plus
· Excellent communication and influencing skills, and superb interpersonal skills
· Ability to establish and manage trusted relationships with senior business leaders
· Driven, self-starter with a passion for excellence
· Up to 20% travel required
