We are currently recruiting Application Developer – IBM Cloud Full Stack for an 17-month fixed term
contract, based in Sydney.
You will be part of an Application Development team that is responsible for supporting the full life cycle
of development and enhancements. As an Application Developer your responsibilities include –
• Work effectively individually and with team members toward customer satisfaction and success
• Create high- and low-level design for micro services and APIs as per Westpac WDP standards.
• Develop design documents and review technical documents from Solution Architects for projects
in the cards and collections domain and manage the alignment of the program’s architecture to
the Bank’s Enterprise Architecture.
• Define technical user stories and track the development activities of the team members
• Lead workshops and engage stakeholders as required from onshore.
• Lead and participate in problem solving to deliver large scale change through process engineering,
technology and people engagement.
• Design and build deliverables to ensure traceability of the built solution to the architectural
principles and business objectives.
• Be keenly aware of timelines and budgeting to deliver in a timely manner
To ensure success in the role you will possess the following skills –
• Manage and lead large and complex Banking projects and teams across locations preferably in the
Cards and Collections business domain.
• 7+ years of experience in the layers of application development.
• Should stitch together end to end applications either on premises environment or on the Cloud for
our clients.
• Very hands on with coverage of various skills related to the layer's backend skills like Java, JEE,
Spring boot, Hibernate, Microservices; middleware skills like REST/SOA services, APIGEE or API
Connect along with RDBMS and NoSQL skills for persistence.
• Should be proficient in DevOps methodologies and tools Kubernetes; should have knowledge on
design patter
• Ability to improve team productivity by guiding developers on effective GitHub Copilot usage and
conducting continuous learning sessions
• Supported new joiners through dedicated technical mentoring, helping them rapidly enhance their
technical skills.
• Collaborated with QA to develop the Karate Automation Framework, reducing regression effort and
enhancing test efficiency
