Introduction

We are looking for a team member to join the IBM Czech Testing Team. This person will be responsible for test-related tasks, including test analysis and test automation, for the Czech market and national projects.

In this role, you'll work in one of our IBM Consulting Client Innovation Centers (Delivery Centers), where we deliver deep technical and industry expertise to a wide range of public and private sector clients around the world. Our delivery centers offer our clients locally based skills and technical expertise to drive innovation and adoption of new technology.

Your role and responsibilities
Test Analyst

The Test Analyst is responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of software applications by planning, designing, executing, and reporting on tests throughout the development lifecycle.


Key Responsibilities

 

  1. Requirement Analysis

    • Review and analyze business and technical requirements.
    • Identify testable conditions and clarify ambiguities with stakeholders.
  2. Test Planning

    • Develop test plans and strategies aligned with project objectives.
    • Estimate testing effort and contribute to project timelines.
  3. Test Design

    • Create detailed test cases, scripts, and test data.
    • Ensure coverage for functional, integration, regression, and user acceptance testing.
  4. Test Execution

    • Execute manual and automated tests according to the plan.
    • Record results and log defects with clear reproduction steps.
  5. Defect Management

    • Track and manage defects through their lifecycle.
    • Collaborate with developers and business analysts for resolution.
  6. Reporting

    • Prepare test progress and quality reports.
    • Provide metrics on coverage, defect density, and overall quality status.
  7. Collaboration

    • Work closely with developers, project managers, and business stakeholders.
    • Support UAT and coordinate with end-users for validation.
  8. Continuous Improvement

    • Suggest process improvements for test efficiency.
    • Stay updated on testing tools, techniques, and best practices.



Test Automation Specialist

The Test Automation Specialist is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining automated test scripts and frameworks to ensure software quality and accelerate delivery cycles.


Key Responsibilities

 

  1. Automation Strategy & Planning

    • Define automation scope and approach based on project requirements.
    • Select appropriate tools and frameworks for automation.
  2. Framework Development

    • Design and implement robust, reusable, and scalable automation frameworks.
    • Integrate automation with CI/CD pipelines for continuous testing.
  3. Test Script Development

    • Create automated test scripts for functional, regression, and performance testing.
    • Ensure scripts are maintainable and aligned with coding standards.
  4. Execution & Reporting

    • Execute automated test suites and analyze results.
    • Generate detailed reports and dashboards for stakeholders.
  5. Defect Management

    • Log and track defects found during automation runs.
    • Collaborate with developers for quick resolution.
  6. Tool & Technology Management

    • Stay updated on emerging automation tools and technologies.
    • Evaluate and implement improvements to enhance automation efficiency.
  7. Collaboration

    • Work closely with QA, development, and DevOps teams.
    • Support manual testers in transitioning to automation.
  8. Continuous Improvement

    • Optimize test coverage and execution time.
    • Contribute to best practices and knowledge sharing within the team.
Required education
None
Preferred education
Bachelor's Degree
Required technical and professional expertise

Experience
  • 1–3 years of experience in software testing or quality assurance.
  • Hands-on experience with test case design, execution, and defect management.


Technical Skills
  • Strong understanding of SDLC and STLC.
  • Familiarity with test management tools (e.g., JIRA, XRAY, Zephyr).
  • Basic knowledge of SQL for data validation.
  • Understanding of API testing and web technologies.
  • Exposure to automation tools (Playwright, RobotFramework) is an advantage.
  • Good command of English and Czech/Slovak


Soft Skills
  • Analytical thinking and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in agile teams.


Additional
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices (nice to have).
  • Experience in performance or security testing (optional but beneficial).
