We are seeking a skilled Python Developer to join our team and contribute to building robust, scalable, and efficient applications. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in backend development, API design, and integration, with a focus on delivering high-quality solutions that meet business requirements.

In this role, you'll work in one of our IBM Consulting Client Innovation Centers (Delivery Centers), where we deliver deep technical and industry expertise to a wide range of public and private sector clients around the world. Our delivery centers offer our clients locally based skills and technical expertise to drive innovation and adoption of new technology.

Your role and responsibilities

A Data Engineer with expertise in Data Platforms specializes in developing applications on Big Data technologies, such as API development. This role requires a strong foundation in traditional Application Development, along with knowledge of Analytics libraries, open-source Natural Language Processing, and statistical and big data computing libraries. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional technical abilities to understand, design, write, and debug complex code.

Bachelor's Degree
Required technical and professional expertise
  • Strong proficiency in Python and related frameworks (e.g., Flask, Django, FastAPI).
  • Experience in developing and consuming RESTful APIs.
  • Solid understanding of database systems (SQL and NoSQL) and data modeling.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes.
  • Knowledge of software development best practices, including version control (Git) and unit testing.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and optimize application performance.
Preferred technical and professional experience
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Exposure to containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Knowledge of microservices architecture.
  • Familiarity with message brokers (Kafka, RabbitMQ).
  • Understanding of security best practices in API and application development.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills for cross-functional teamwork.
