The Network Automation Lead is responsible for leading the design, development, deployment, and maintenance of network automation solutions. This role ensures network operations are efficient, scalable, and aligned with business and IT objectives, leveraging automation tools, scripts, and frameworks.
Lead cross-functional teams of network engineers, automation engineers, and DevOps personnel.
Mentor and coach team members in network automation practices and tools.
Drive collaboration between IT, network operations, and business stakeholders.
Define and implement network automation strategies aligned with enterprise goals.
Develop innovative solutions for reducing errors, improving reliability, and increasing efficiency.
LAN/WAN, VLANs, VPNs, SD-WAN, MPLS, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, STP, QoS, IPv4/IPv6.
Network security concepts: firewalls, ACLs, segmentation, zero-trust principles.
Network monitoring, telemetry, and observability tools (SNMP, NetFlow, streaming telemetry).
Scripting/Programming: Python, Bash, PowerShell, Go, or similar.
Automation Frameworks: Ansible, Terraform, Puppet, Chef, SaltStack.
Network Orchestration: Cisco NSO, VMware vRealize, NetBrain, or vendor-specific solutions.
