This is a customer-facing, technical sales position with a focus on offerings within the IBM Technology Data product portfolio.
As a technical sales specialist, you will be passionate about understanding what drives success for customers across many varied industries; have an ability to translate this into a technical solution; clearly articulate the business value to the customer; and collaborate to effectively prove how our market-leading software solutions provide benefit and solve business challenges.
You will specialise in IBM's Data products in the areas of data management, data governance, business automation, AI and data science solutions and bring a deep technical expertise to bear on business problems.
As the technical sales specialist, you will work to understand the business pains of your client, their existing and desired solution landscapes and deliver compelling solution demonstrations including proof of concepts, MVPs or other detailed hands-on activities. You will understand the Data & AI product portfolio and have strong technical skills in AI, digital assistants, agentic assistants and knowledge of business automation, data management ( replication, virtualisation, ETL), data governance and data science solutions (AI and ML).
You will cover but not be limited to the following key areas:
· Accelerate sales activities by providing solution technical expertise
· Deliver effective solution demonstrations at client meetings, briefings and conferences
· Create, maintain and enrich demonstration assets and workshop materials
· Facilitate running of client workshops and collaborate on desired technical solution
· Team with the wider IBM ecosystem and business partner communities
- Effective Communication and Relationship-Building: Successful communication and relationship-building in enterprise and SMB environments.
- 3+ years technical experience working as a data engineer, technical consultant or data administrator.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong technical skills and a passion for Data & AI technologies.
- Pre-sales Expertise: Experience in pre-sales, sales engineering, or consulting, working with client subject matter experts to scope and demo solutions.
- Sales Success: Track record of success in Technology Sales.
