Introduction

We are seeking a Z Systems engineer to provide development, Environment Maintenance and test support for zSecurity prodcut development lifecycle. 

This role has two parts, and the first one is “z/OS System Programmer” provides subject matter expertise in z/OS Mainframe infrastructure management and administration

The other part of the role requires Testing/QA support for the IBM internal products. 

This is full-time job position and needs to be supported from India-Bangalore location. 

This role demands continuous learning & support of new technologies and tools that IBM produces for Mainframe platform in the area of security

 

• zSCC as a product has polyglot development environment with focus on Operators framework for microservices deployment. Microservice(s) are using more than on runtime. Java, Python, nodeJS, Javascript and GO { for operators} are part of development cycle.
• The role consists of reactive support in response to issues or customer cases on our zSCC/zSec offerings as well as pro-active support aligned with aim of improving our overall Compliance posture.

Your role and responsibilities

You will be part of the team which manages Mainframe systems and provide quality assurance testing support for the IBM security software products. 

Ensuring system availability for development and testing.

As part of quality assurance team, you will work closely with developers, creating test cases (specific test environment/events) and executing test scenarios 

Working with SMP/E & z/OSMF. 

Managing in-house tools and applications.

Configuration and maintenance of sub-systems such as DB2, CICS, IMS, MQ, etc. 

Monitor and analyse performance of mainframe.

Scheduling jobs through TWS and managing house-keeping jobs.

Troubleshooting issues and fixing them.

As a member of testing team, you must gain deep knowledge of functions/features of the product to test and support them. 

Applying the principles of Agile methodology

Provide support for the delivery of product releases of IBM security software products.

Bachelor's Degree

Required technical and professional expertise
  • 6+ years of Software development/Testing  experience in Z based environment

  •  Ability to handle the system set up and/or component configurations as part of setting up the Test bed

  •  Ability to write automation for the application stack in the Z environment. Support the System Test cycle(s) for the product.

  • Strong understanding and experience with configuration, maintenance and troubleshooting of z/OS system components & concepts such as TSO/ISPF, JES2, SDSF, SMF, RMF, WLM, VTAM, TCP/IP, USS/OMVS, Sysplex, FTP, NJE, ISMF, IWS etc.

  • Good experience in SMP/E, z/OSMF and non-SMPE installations of mainframe products

  •  Experience in Security Products  - RACF (must)/ACF2/TSS (any)

  • Very Good exposure  in Mainframe JCL & utilities

  • Experience in installation and maintenance of mainframe sub-systems – DB2, CICS, IMS & MQ.

  • Working knowledge in REXX/CLIST

Preferred technical and professional experience
  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies
  • Knowledge on z/VM is an added advantage
  • Knowledge of ACF2 & TopSecret 
  • Experience on using zSecure
