Introduction

As a Business Process Analyst for Apptio line of products We are seeking individuals with business and technology consulting experience who will take a Lead in business process design within Customer Success and Value Management organizations. You will work closely with Senior Stakeholders to support customers’ business needs and solution requirements. As a Business Process Analyst, your efforts will directly impact the value realized by the internal stakeholder and external customers and result in the relationship’s ultimate success. In order to succeed in this team, you must have the passion and energy to work in a startup, entrepreneurial, and fast-paced environment, with a very curious nature.

Your role and responsibilities

The primary job function is to assess business requirements and make evidence-based recommendations to support process improvements. You will serve as intermediaries between decision-makers, management teams and IT professionals to keep track of business performance, conduct process mapping and identify internal inefficiencies.

Business process analyst job descriptions typically include the following responsibilities.

  • Evaluating internal needs, internal workflows and business processes.
  • Overseeing detailed business analysis and process reengineering projects
  • Collaborating with business and IT leaders to create new process designs
  • Interpreting complex data and business metrics for relevant stakeholders
  • Documenting business process modelling activities for future reference

As technology transforms, you need to understand digital applications and virtual workflows. This need places business process analysts at the intersection of organizational planning and information technology.

To be successful in this role, individuals must have at least some experiences with business IT and Finance processes and a deep knowledge of process management during tech rollouts. Implementing applications and software often creates new operational challenges that must be accounted for. Business process analysts may be responsible for identifying these barriers and locating process-based solutions that can mitigate unplanned downtime, eliminate productivity losses and maximize IT spending.

Required technical and professional expertise
  • 5+ years of experience in a business, process or technical analyst/consulting role
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, MIS, Finance or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to demonstrate experience with data analysis and data manipulation.
  • Ability to elicit business requirements and understand the importance of business objectives and values
  • Advanced process management, redesign, and mapping capabilities
  • Team player with solid communication and presentation skills.
Preferred technical and professional experience

General

  • Self-starter – able to come up to speed on complex, difficult concepts with minimal assistance.
  • Competent with packaged and SaaS application software implementation practices.
  • High-level knowledge of enterprise organizational, business and technical environments.
  • Hand-on practitioner – ability to work on operational tasks when called for, not just designing process but has the ability to conduct pilots
  • Curious by nature – Process improvement is driven by innovative thinking
  • Client-focused attitude – a customer advocate.
  • Consulting experience in enterprise systems implementations
  • Proven leadership experience working in front of clients
  • Ability to breakdown complex information to simple solution requirements
  • Experienced/or knowledge of Service Costing (cost allocations)
  • Ability to communicate at different levels (both business and technical) based on audience. 

Business Domain Focus

  • Specific knowledge and application of business services and financial management including budgeting, cost allocations, capital & operating expense handling, program portfolio management, and IT application/infrastructure Support.
  • Operational knowledge of IT infrastructure and/or Business domains including HR, Legal, Finance, Facilities etc.. 

Technical Domain Focus

  • Experience in data analysis and data analytics.
  • Skilled at working with large data sets, quickly detecting data patterns and data-related issues.
  • Skilled at completing business requirement design via workshops and mockups where required
  • Executive report and dashboard design including wireframe and mockups
  • Experience in business process mapping
  • Professional Business Analyst or Process certification (e.g. ISEB, IIBA, PBA, BPMN, CMMI, SIPOC, ISO, ITIL, Six Sigma, Lean) ( Preferred but not Mandatory)nager and Recruiter should collaborate to create the relevant verbiage.
